Does anyone know if /or who offers the Aqua C Protein Skimmer for the nano's. I read somewhere that it was expected to be out sometime soon. Just not sure when? Any info would be great , thanks...

A friend of mine call Marine Depot (since it's in their magazine, but no price or anything). The person he spoke to said that they had them BUT they were being tested. Apparently they did not skim to the level that AquaC wants them to, so I think they are not being released until they work better. That's all word of mouth. I suggest you call Marine Depot, or email AquaC to see what the "real word" is.

I emailed the guys at AquaC myself and asked them when it would be out and this is what they said (they relplied very quickly btw)

I have an 18 gallon nano and since I have the room i just went with the regular Remora, the nano is just a little shorter, which means that it has a shortend bubble reaction time = not as much foam. Plus I doubt it will be much cheaper. IMO I would just go with the Remora if you have room, bc as Steve himself said it's better.

I use an AquaC Remora on my 10g tank. The tank is 12 inches tall, the distance from the bottom of the Remora to its "hang on lip" is 12.5 inches. It sits on the table behind the tank. If it were on a stand, it would just hang off. It uses a MJ1200, which I don't feel is too much flow, particularly as it is flowing out of the overflow lip rather than shooting out of an MJ1200 nozzle. My 2 cents.

There are two tanks in my office running the Coralife Super Skimmer. Wow, they collect gunk like there is no tomorrow! Plus they cost less than $80 from big als online!
The only issue with them in a small tank is that the in-tank pump is fricken' massive, and the "anti-bubble" trap is equally massive. I don't have measurements but it's pretty intrusive in a 10g tank. In a 15 or 20g tank, it's less noticable. It's a great skimmer, from what I've seen! If you are clever with rock work, you won't notice it. Also, check the massive thread on the skimmer (search RC) and take note of the "overflow" problems that some people have had. Mostly back-pressure problems that some have resolved. And, of course, if you drill an "anti-overflow" hole in the collection cup and route it back into the tank, it's not a problem.
I have two AquaC EV-120's (big in sump skimmers) and they work great. I bought the Remora for $60 used, so I can't complain about it.

for $135 try the tunze nano doc skimmer will blow eveything else away
