Aqua clear 70 power filter

Hi was just wondering if it better or worst to run this filter on my 50 gallon tank I have am running a octo 1000 skimmer and a brs dual media rector. Thanks Ted

Its fine if you want but in general not needed really...
Most of the "stuff" we need to export from our tanks is smaller than a mechanical filter can remove..

A skimmer, a media reactor and a mechanical filter all perform different jobs so its not an overlap or anything in functionality..

Instead of removing the power filter altogether you migh want to remove the media instead and continue using it for flow. When you do a water change and really stir things up though you can add two or three of those sponges to help polish the water for you. Once the water looks clear go ahead and rinse the sponges out under the faucet and store them until the next time. Piece of cake.

I always use one on my QT with sponge and biomax media. Prior to use I condition a new sponge in the display to populate with bacteria.
