Anybody have any experience with any of the Aqua Excel external skimmers?

I'm in the market for a skimmer for my 120g that doesn't have to sit in my sump, i.e. an external skimmer. Needless to say there are very few options for ext skimmers, except for giant ones. Reef Octopus makes a few but the 200ext is >$450, which is more than I'm able to spend at the moment. I'm looking for something in the <$350 range. I had an Aqua-C skimmer for quite awhile but looking for something less finicky and more powerful.
Ideas?
