Nice Ray, good luck with him...
just wondering did you find that the tangs fight alot between themselves? almost everything I read states that they should be house as the only surgeonfish in the tank. expecially the clown tang. I know chris has a bunch together.
I like tangs and would like to try my hand at a tank of them. chuck

I have a Blonde Naso and a Yellow together and they school. I think the yellow would die if I seperated them. They never fight but clealy the Naso is the boss of the tank, he eats first then others follow.

If you go to aqua hut on the wrong day he is sold out. He usually gets in two or three orders a week. When you go ask them its no big secret. They sell out fast, specially now that they redid the store.

Justin and chuck,

I only had some aggression with the tangs when I add another one. I found that the yellow tang is the boss. As you can see there is just a feeding frenzy when its feeding time. I also have a feeder that feeds them a little bit three times a day. My biggest expense is food. lol I put in nori every day and I use two clips this way the smaller tang the Caribbean blue gets his fill.

Chuck you have the 120 now go for it. But I have to tell you I do a 10-gallon water change once a week on the tank. The clown tang is about 3 1/2 inches so he should be fine. I released him today after a day of him hanging in a specimen container all day. The others didn't even realize I let him out.

I found if you have one tang already add two at the same time. The tangs are like cichlids. If you over crowd them they will chill out. Only thing they are territorial about is there sleeping spot though.

mmm. i'd like a powder blue too.

I need a new copperband b'fly. I lost mine a month back and i see my first aiptasia in a year today. did you notice if they had?

Any more clowns there? other tangs?

They had baby lieutenant tangs, baby valmingi tangs, a few more clown tangs, a orange shoulder tang, scopas tang, yellow tangs, a lot of hippos at a nice size, a few sail fin tangs and god knows what he got in today. Think he said he was getting in a few more tangs.

Were did you see those?

They are definitely cool, I know one local wholesaler had some recently. The big trick is they need some specialized care, like cold water. Unfortunately they are generally kept at tropical tempatures along the way from collector to wholesaler to retailer and often the unknowing hobbyist as well :(

Bill Aquahut had two of them this afternoon, I have never seen these creatures before, they are real amasing to look at.

They are famous for NEVER answering the phone. I don't blame them, as they would nee a full time phone person if they did. It's bad enough a lot of us wait for Don to help us when we are there in person.
