aqua lifter as a doser?

the thought crossed my mind to using 2 aqua lifters in conjunction with a aqua controller to doseDIY 2 part cal/alk solution! is this possible? has anyone done this?

i figure at $12 a pop, 2 lifters would be much cheaper then a double doser

this is what i am using to dose right now. works like a champ no issues so far and 30$ total for 2 lifters, and 2 -5gallon buckets.

how do you controll the amout of dosing? a controller?

how often and how long do u run the doser/day....i know it will vary from tank to tank, but a good starting point?

Depends on where your doser is located and how fast it's pumping from it's location.

Where and how far it has to pump will make a HUGE difference!

My unit pumps about 1Ml per second or so.
BUT MEASURE YOUR OUTPUT, your mailage may vary.

So you need to know how much you were dosing by hand before you can figure out how long it would need to stay on.

For my tank it would take about 50-60 secs per day (50-60 Ml per day).
But if you have a nice controller, you could turn it on for 5 seconds every 2 hours, or something.

I use these in conjunction with my kalkwasser dosing and my calcium reactor feed water. Of course I have them plugged into pH controllers. They work like a charm.

I use them for top off with my aquacontroller. If the ph is low I'll put it through the Kalk Reactor, if it's high I'll pull straight from the top-off container.
