Aqua Medic Reefdoser EVO 4 Manual dosing

I recently purchased the Aqua Medic EVO 4 Reefdoser 4-head dosing pump, and I'm liking it a lot. Very nice quality unit -- it's extremely accurate and very easy to program for automatic dosing. I love the remote control unit -- no more kneeling in front of the sump to make adjustments. The price was extremely reasonable, too, compared to other peristaltic dosers. But I have some unanswered questions, and the user's manual is pretty sparse. Hopefully somebody here has the answers.

1. I've found that one can in fact do manual dosing, but when I tried to do this, the controller did not display a volume dispensed. It just turned on the selected pump. I really was needing to dose a specific volume of one of the liquids. Isn't there some way to do this directly? Removing the dosing tubes and placing them into a measuring beaker and then using the pump manually to fill the beaker to the desired volume isn't really a good solution. I can do this without the pump accurately enough and much faster.

2. After one of the pump heads has already been programmed, how can I discontinue/cancel the program for that head? I see no way to do this.

I appreciate any feedback.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm thinking about getting a dosing pump. I'm hoping to do the Triton method

I never did get an answer to my first question. It appears that this is just the way it is designed. The best solution is probably to note the flow rate and just use elapsed time to judge manual dosing. Not a big deal I guess, but it seems pretty dumb to me to not include this feature. German engineering...

To delete a program, the only way I found to do it was to set the dose volume for that pump to 0. Also pretty dumb, and not at all intuitive, but at least it works.

After using the doser for 8 months, I'm still happy with it. It's accurate and reliable, and the programming is very flexible once you figure it out. The owner's manual is a joke. I have no intentions of swapping it out for a different unit as long as it continues to be reliable and accurate.
