Not being negative Dennis, at least I was not trying to be. I walked in with Katie, and we were the only people in the store. And as I had Katie with me I would have thought we looked more innocent instead of hungry...
Instead of asking.. 'Can I help you?' or 'Can I help you find something?', the young gentleman there looked at me and said "Do you need something?"
You'd get a lot more favorable reaction and make a better impression if you tried something like a How can I help you?
They did have a nice selection of freshwater stuff, and some realy neat albino frogs. I just thought this kid's customer service skills could use some polishing up.
The store did have quite the selection of plants, and pond gear. I choose to shop places where I get good service and advice. I have my favorite LFS choices, and I come here for most of my advice (good and bad)!!!
If they wanted to improve business without spending one dime, a simple how can we help you would suffice.... It just seemed like my experience echoed the experiences of many others who have been there.
