Aquabacs' Cadlights Artisan 50 Azooxanthellae Tank build

That's all you get for now ;)

Once I get a section of the tank to look more the way I want, there will be a new full tank shot. For right now, I need to get my hands on some serious aquarium epoxy to help a few corals defy gravity...then I will be heading towards the right direction.

Love that Aquamend! I should have bought stock in that company. I would hate to add up all the money I spent on Aquamend. A little of that and a drop of super glue and nothing moves.

Don, I will try Aquamend as well. I have used similar type products but they have failed to perform the way I would like. I have a few corals that I have been trying to hang completely upsidedown from an overhang. I can get the corals to hold but after the bond cured it is still weak. Also I don't want to physically see the bond once the coral is in place. My next project tank, all the overhangs will be pre-drilled out to make the scaping a lot easier.

Mike,
Did you see the item in the latest issue of Coral magazine about mounting frags in a reef? The technique is a super glue gel-putty-super glue gel "sandwich." I've heard from others that it works well and will give a bond that will hold things upside down. It's the issue with Tobies on the cover.

My Profilux is back! This evening, I received my Profilux II back from being upgraded by Progressive Reef and it is now officially a P3. :bounce3: Time to work on setting it back up and continue down the road in aquarium automation, now the fun begins.

Aquamend is the only thing that works. Don't use a lot and you won't see it. I put super glue on each side as described above and hold it for a minute. No pumps for 20 minutes. If its a tough place or a heavy coral you might have to hold it for 5 to 10 minutes. It takes a screw driver to get it off. I have tried every other epoxy out there and this is the only one that works and it doesn't mess with the skimmer. Kills me that Home Depot quit carrying it. I get it online now.

Thanks again. I will pick up a tube this weekend. Also, if anyone hasn't notice there is a new RC sponsor, House of Fins. They are one of my local fish stores and they announced their annual Splash event. Check their sponsor section out and see who will be speaking at this years event, best of all...it is free.

Today I sent the evening working on setting back up the P3. Have the probes re- calibrated, re-assigned the sockets, and started working on the timers.

Also stopped by reefthreads.com to listen to Gary's and SaraB's awesome podcast for a third time ;) You guys rock! The site is the new place to go to get your weekly dose of interesting reef/aquarium information. Can't wait to here about one of next weeks topics, power outages. Keep up the great work guys!

I'll have to check out that site. Well I'm guilty of the NPS acronym too. I guess when presented with the options my brain prefers it. Probably because it fits in with what we're used to, and I deal with so many acronyms in medicine. But you are 100% right Mike I just don't see it changing for the masses even if our own little group tries. I mean we don't want to come off as elitists either.

Oh yeah I second the aquamend. I've tried everything even stuff that seems to get good reviews, and honestly don't think anything is worth even 1/5 of what it costs when compaared to aquamend. I've held a frag in place with DD epoxy before only to have it fall off an hour later and it's still soft. Total rip off.

It sounds like you haven't tried the epoxy from Premium Aquatics then... that is by far the best I have used :) Costs more, but IME/IMO it's well worth it.

That stuff sounds awesome. Definitely gonna order some. Anybody wanna buy 3 brand new boxes of DD epoxy from me? :)

LOL! No thanks. Already learned my lesson with that DD garbage. I'm not sure it'll stick to anything, wet or dry.
