Have you noticed any growth? Change in coloration? Mine looks duller and gets covered with detritus really easily. I'm thinking it's dead.

For growth, very little noticed. The edges of a few branches would get slightly white then darken up. As far as I remember reading, in the wild, they only grow about an inch a year. I know what you are talking about when you say duller. There was a small section on one of mine that had some sponge growing on it that I removed. The coral had a dull or faded appearance there, I have not noticed it turn darker blue in that area yet. I would say clean the coral off and check it with you mesoscope, if the entire colony is very dull, after a day or so no feeders are visible, then it most likely is gome.

Refrigerated Autofeeder 2.0

Just finished replacing a few parts in the frig, eveything glued, and waiting for Monday to test for leaks.

Very nice Mike. I just got back home and guess what... the fridge crapped out at some point while I was gone. I'm so fed up with this frigidaire, I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I'm going to place an order for an avanti like yours tonight from Staples. 1 day free shipping so I should be back up and running by Wednesday.

Quick question about the fridge... I notice that it uses a refrigerant even though it is a TEC. Probably explains how it holds the temp so well. Do you have to leave it unplugged for several hours after transporting it or can you plug it in right away? I know with the compressor ones you have to leave it sitting upright for a while to be safe.

I had it sitting plugged in for a few days before I drilled it. I wanted to make sure it held the temp before I drilled it. After I plumbed everything I checked it every day to continue to make sure it was holding temp and not leaking. Besides adding a leak sensor to the frig, it might be a good idea to add a temp sensor as well.

Also placed an order this week for the Avast Marine Swabbie. I dont believe they are doing any shipping this week as they are getting ready for MACNA. Plan is to hook it up to the P3 and set the timer for it to clean the skimmer neck every 30 minutes. This should help with the skimmer neck buildup/cleaning greatly.

Thanks!

I was very surprised when Eric @ GBD asked to post pictures of it. It was a pleasure to share the information on the refrigerated feeding system with the readers of GBD and continue to get the word out on Azoox coral feeding.

Very cool! Hopefully more people will start using the fridge setup, with the venturi as the fail safe. Yes it just got a little easier to keep these tanks :) Next thing you need is an automatic water changer. I'm picking up mine tomorrow.

Yah, it looks not to be a typical "cold wall" TEC normally applies.

can you tell I recently had a meeting with a major refrigerator manufacturer  (display commercial units, not for this project, sorry)

The only reason you have to keep them upright for a while is if you tipped it and the refrigerant moved around. If you keep it upright, no issue, plug and play baby :)

Mine is being shipped to Staples. Although I will keep it upright in my car, I don't know if the shipper kept it upright. So I guess to be safe I should let it sit for a day just to let the refrigerant settle.

Automatic water change set up or fridge? :)

Unfortunately I dont have the room to set up a automatic water changer but I have a few items coming from GHL though ;)

Might play with the idea of setting up a small tank attached to the same line prior to the refrigerated autofeeder. I will let you guess what might be in it...just green slimers.
