AquaC EV-120 operation question

I am testing my equipment and have a question about my skimmer. I read the instruction manual and drilled a siphon hole on the exit pipe. When i shut off the return pump and skimmer pump and let it stand for few mins and then start them again the water column in the skimmer is filled with water. If i wait for few mins and then close the siphon hole with my finger for a minute the water in water column drops.

The first picture is taken immediately after the pumps are started.
You can see a 1/4" siphon hole above the water level in sump. When pumps start from stop the siphon hole is below the water level.

In the second picture you can see a close up of water filled in section below collection cup.

The third picture shows the drop in water column after the siphon hole is blocked for a minute. The siphon hole is blocked after the water level in sump drops below it.

Is this normal? If there is water filled in section below the collection cup, after some time the water is pumped out of the air exhaust in collection cup. This is the reason i have hooked up a flexible tube on the air duct, to pump water in sump and it is not submerged in water.

rohitp............I also am running a 120 a great little skimmer. I run my in my sump, I'm lucky there so I don't amy experence on exteror set up but I do know that ANY restriction(s) on the discharge line will make maintaning a constant level in the reaction area very difficult if not impssible. Your set up is some what of a challage. What I suggest is you contact the folks @ AquaC as they are great, and FAST, with helpfull replys.

Hope this helps in small way....

I think the hole is suppose to go in the top of the elbow just before it goes down. But yes! Call AquaC, They are very good to work with.
