AquaC Remora Skimmer.....

I currently use it on my Aquapod 24. Am currently in the process of moving everything to a 30 gal. tank. The question I have, has anyone used it in a sump or does it have to be on the aquarium? Really would like to have it underneath the aquarium without having to buy a sump version.

I suspect you could hang any external skimmer onto the side of a sump so long as:

1. The skimmer hangs freely off the sump (i.e. does not sit on the ground next to the sump thereby propping the skimmer up higher in relation to the water level then it normally would be if hung off the tank).

2. The water level at the skimmer intake - or where it's supply pump resides - is no lower than it normally would be if you were hanging it on your tank (or the pump you've hooked up to it is beefy enough to compensate for the head loss due to any decreased water height).
