Aquacave website

Hey,

I've been trying to order new halide bulbs the last few days, and I have not been able to get Aquacave's website ( www.aquacave.com ) working from my web browser. I then went to the library on campus, and it worked for like 2 minutes, then stopped working again, and then I went to my girlfriend's, and it still didn't load up at all. I tried for hours all weekend, then this morning, and all afternoon from her place.

Does it work for anyone else? This is driving me bonkers, as I don't want to go through the process of setting up a new account with a new company, and I don't have the time to wait on the Reeflux group order, since I doubt it'll go through any time soon anyway.

Thanks

Grrr. This is frustrating. Maybe I'll try ::GASP!!!:: Internet Explorer... The only thing common between the 3 computers...

Yea still didn't work for me. Very odd. Maybe it's an ISP thing, or something weird like that. Perhaps that long series of tubes connecting my computer machine with the aquacave website are broken?

On 3 different computers, 3 different locations, 3 different operating systems?

If it were only a matter of ipconfig/renew, then I might be the one who needs the draino :p

I rebooted the computers too, so that should constitute an ipconfig/renew. They were vista, XP, and OSX, I tried firefox on all, and then safari/IE just in case. Nada.

I had a horrible experience with aquacave.com. I wouldn't order from them. It took over a month to get a little reeffantic needle valve to replace the first one that was sent broken.

Yea I saw what happened. They just didn't have the part you needed, then when it did come, it was broken, but in the end they replaced it for free and gave you a refund. They should have told you it was backordered :/ but other than that, that's kinda how it goes when ordering from online places...

I've tried using internal links from google's cache pages, but though the cache of the page works, the site doesn't.

It's not a big deal anymore, as I just had to order the bulbs elsewhere, before Aquacave gave me their phone number.

So, Eric, you're using the school's computers on the school's network. Maybe it's being filtered out/blocked. My company has 2 different filtering applications and I've never sure I'll be able to find what I need.

Yea Pedro, that's what I'm wondering about. I've never run into that problem before, and I've surfed much more... questionable material through the connection before. The only thing that I've ever run into a blocking issue with was using bittorrent. Short of that, the sky and aquacave, have been the limits.

I had bought a few items before and had a great transaction, quick shipping, well packed, etc. That's why I was going to go with them again. I ended up going with Premium Aquatics, who have always had a good reputation and have been helpful on the boards, but I didn't want to because I don't like their site's layout, as simple and friendly as it is, I didn't want to have to create a new account, put in a new credit card info thing, and overall just didn't want any hassles.

I wouldn't trust any site to store my credit card info. If it's an option, always opt out. The few seconds it takes you to input your card data can save you money and headaches if somebody cracks their database.

I use my credit card so often I have the number and security code memorized. NBD to key it in.

I've got mine memorized too, and shouldn't trust sites, but Amex's policies are more or less bulletproof, and everyone in my family except me has had their card numbers stolen, used somewhere for some huge expenses, and you just call AmEx, say you didn't do it, you've got no idea who did, and you've got no idea how they used your card, and they cancel the card, cancel the charge, and fedex you a new card.

It's more difficult when someone takes out a $50,000 loan from Bank of America, cashes it out, and runs off with it, all under your name and SSN.... Which has happened to a family member recently.... Fortunately it wasn't held to us, and it was reported to the FBI and other law enforcement agencies.

Anyway, I've submitted a ticket ot the local technerds who run this joint, and they'll be taking a look, hopefully.
