AquaController II problem

My ACII is a little over 2 yrs old, and recently it has started to go through batteries like crazy. Even if there is no power outage, I am getting a low battery message a few days after replacing.

Any ideas?

The AC adapter is not supplying 9V DC (can check with a voltmeter)? Actual power failures?

The Adapter is putting out 15.25 volts. I double checked the specs on the adapter, and it says it is 9VDC... Maybe I should make a run to Radio Shack for a new adapter?
