Aquacontroller Jr. Temp probe?

Does the rubber cap stay on the Aquacontroller Jr.'s temp probe?

My ACjr is reading 4.5 degrees warmer than the Coralife digital thermometer. Who do you believe?

Good question! I didn't even think the cap was supposed to come off...... I use mine with the "cap" on. I guess I didn't think it was a cap.

Curt from Neptune Systems told me that the cap was to stay on.

I've decided to believe the Neptune thermometer, so the chiller has been adjusted.

Honestly, I would probably trust the coralife over the neptune probe! My AcJr can't even keep the proper time without being adjusted.

The best thing might be to get an actual glass thermometer and see what that reads. The aqua controller has a menu/feature where you can offset the difference.

Not only did i keep the rubber cap on mine, i put entire probe inside 2 plastic bags. I have had 2 probes go bad in a matter of 3 months, i think they trick is to not let them get wet.....go figure.
