I am setting up a 76 gallon sw. I want to purchase an aquafuge w/light. Any one have any thoughts on the aquafuges? I was looking at them online in my sites I have and I'm a bit confused by looking at the pictures they have for them. I can see they hang over the back but is there any plumbing for them? Are they supposed to run into the main tank?

I have the larger one for my 75 also, and I can confirm that it is easy to install. I believe it came with its own powerhead, which is fixed inside the main tank, outflow pipe comes out the other side. It has worked pretty well on my tank for about 3 years now. Keep in mind that even the large one is only around 8 gallons, I think, so it's not a huge volume, but for my purposes, works well (I made a second refugium out of the sump).

I ran a small one of these and would like to mention that especially if you put something like cheato in it, to do a good job of cleaning it out regularly. Alot of detritus and other assorted stuff gets caught in the cheato and settles in there. Nice thing about the setup, though, is that you can turn off the pump, take out the cheato and stir up the gunk all you want, and siphon it out, and none of that is transferred back to your tank. Then just turn the pump back on when you add new water and it fills it back up. Mine came with a cheapy rio pump that I substituted with a maxijet. Had to get a small piece of hose and plastic clamps to do it.
Thanks for the great replys from all of you. I mainly wanted it for copepods for a mandarin goby. I'll have 130 1bs of LR and a good 3-5 in LS so I was really wanting the refugium. Thanks for the responses again!! This helped me a great deal and I will get the Large Aquafuge.
