My name is Merri Johns and I work with C2development in Iowa where we design and manufacture the AquaIllumination (AI) line of LED lighting for salt-water reef enthusiasts. We have been in business for four years, and work everyday to produce the highest quality LED lighting for the serious aquarists.
As a company we understand the importance of organizations such as yours that focus on connecting aquarists for both social and educational purposes. My intent in reaching out to you is obvious in that we wish to introduce our product to your members in hopes of them considering our products, but we believe that by working with organizations such as yours we can better inform and connect with those looking for answers about this exciting new technology.
LED technology is still relatively new to the hobby, and while a good number of individuals have jumped in with great success, there can still be concern or skepticism by individuals wary to consider LED lighting for one of their most important investments. My hope is that by connecting with your membership we can help to clear up some of the misconceptions about LED technology.
Can you tell me a little about your group? Specifically:
- Does your group meet in person on a regular basis, and if so would a demonstrator loaner be beneficial for your members to see in person?
- If your organization operates completely electronically (forum only) do you have advertising opportunities or other avenues that we might consider to connect with your members?
- Would it be beneficial to coordinate a hosted webinar for your members to learn more about the technology?
- What if any specific questions have you heard from regarding LED lighting that we could help in answering?

PS: On a personal level, I have been maintaining aquariums since I was a child and my current 55g houses mostly soft corals, fish, inverts and live rock.
