Aqualifter Question?

Can the Aqualifter pumps be used as an "air" pump for an extended period of time? In other words, just run it dry to create some bubbling under water. Is it bad to run these pumps dry?

No it doesn't hurt this pump to run dry. It will run either way.

mine has done it for a while if my ATO resevoir goes empty but i would not recommend it as a air pump. just go to Petco they have some for $10-$15

Also real reefers dont use bubble wands hehehe

When my aqualifter starts sucking air it is quite loud. Go for the cheap air pump

I'm actually not using it for a reef!

Don't you think it is still more quite than a standard diaphragm air pump? I always remember them being ridiculously loud!

It's not quieter when it's sucking air.

most of the noise from air pumps is vibration. Just put it on a foam pad.
