Aqualight tank mount light

The price is reasonable, but I'm always skeptical about the reflector quality for those types of units. I went with a ReefOptix pendant for that reason.

I have one works great! They have a built in fan I had to turn it on and off a few times when I first installed it just to be sure it was working it was so quiet. They are very adjustable and easy to mount I like mine.

What size tank are you putting it on?

The legs suck ..plain and simple. I broke one almost as soon a I set the thing up.. built some stronger ones out of Plexiglass and they work great now. My new ones go over the inside and outside lip on the tank (rather than just the outside) and allow it to slide easier than the stock ones. I have the Aquapro but its basically the same set up.

I just ordered mine and it did have a lip inside and out side the tank no problems here! Dont have a problem with the leg.

i have the aqualight pro and i love it :D

I think that depends on your aquascaping plans. What's the length and depth of your tank?
If you put the light on one corner of the tank you will be ok to have corals right under it, depending on the depth of your tank, of course.
For example, if your tank is 24" wide and you place the light on one side of the tank you will be safe to put corals in that half of the tank.

1 150w MH would look kind of wierd of a 55gal they are 48" long! Sure you could put on one and fill that side with coral but that wouldnt look right. Then what is to be done about light on the other side! A 48" fixture wont work anymore because of how the Aqualight Advanced Hang-on Tank Mount HQI fixtures attach it would try to cook the other light and the light strip would block alot of light from the MH. So a smaller fixture would have to be put on insted. It in my opinion would look better and make more sence to just buy 2 IMO.

What are the dimensions of your tank ? Not sure if a 55 Gal is long enough but if it is... you could just go with the four foot fixture and adjust the legs rather than having two 24" fixtures sitting there.
