Aquamaxx co-1 or co-2?

Which skimmer would work best for a 75g mixed reef, Aquamaxx co-1 or co-2? I have mostly sps with some lps, and planning to have a moderate to heavy bio load. Or would you recommend another skimmer? The max height I have to work with is 22". Can't do the EM200, too tall. Thanks

Hi Coralville,

Thanks for your inquiry.

The CO-1 would be a great option for a 75 gallon aquarium. The CO-2 would be too over-sized.

Hi Coralville,

The CO-1 should be plenty for a 75 gallon tank: even a heavily loaded one. With the number of fish a tank can handle, it is hard to say as it depends on the size of the fish and the type of fish. As an example, having a 4" tang will be equal to the bioload of having 2-3 4" gobies/blennies. Our recommendation is to simply add the fish slowly (from least aggressive to most) and monitor your fish and water parameters closely.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.
