What water height are you guys running with this skimmer. I just fired up another cone 2 in 9.5" of water, and its overflowing like crazy.

The other Cone 2 I have sits in 8.25" of water and works great. I really hope I don't have to cut that 9.5" baffle down.

I got good performance in 8¾" of water. Mines the jns sk2 without the little cones.

if you have the height, just use egg crate and pvc pipe to build a stand to raise the skimmer. Rather than cutting the baffle that is.

I believe mine sits in about 9" of water, works great. Only issue I've had with it is the pipe that is used to adjust the flow through the skimmer wouldn't stay in its hole, nothing a good ol zip tie couldn't take care of.

Yeah Im not sure why its overflowing. Its sitting on some PVC at 8.75" and its still overflowing a ton. Ive got the drain tube open, flowing back into the sump.

I also don't have any room to raise the skimmer. So its either this height or Ill have to take the baffle out and get it recut. Thats the last think I want to do.

Im going to let the skimmer run for a few more days to see if it calms down.

Still overflowing like crazy. I guess I've got to cut out the baffle now and get the glass cut. What a PITA.

Lesson learned? Test skimmer before getting baffles cut.

Just stinks as the recommended height is 8-9"

I have the same skimmer and mine was overflowing at 8.5". No matter how many times I adjust it, it still went crazy. I wanted till the tank matured a little before turning the skimmer back on.

I don't know how old your tank is but waiting worked for me. Now only if the impeller didn't crack on me.

Can anyone else share their water depth experience. I've had my skimmer for almost two weeks and tried it at 8 and 10 inches and it's overflowing like mad with the stand pipe wide open. It's skimming so much I have about two inches of foam in my sump. Done massive water changes/carbon on this mature tank. My co-1 worked within hours.
