Can I cut the intake tube by half? It's too low in the tank I'm scared that if it ever overflows, it will take half my tank water to the floor? Will this affect the skimmer? Skimmer flow?

Yes, you can. But I'm not sure if there's a need to do that. You can always feed the collecting cup drain tube back into the skimmer output chamber, so that the overflowing water can flow back into the tank.

I've had this skimmer for more than two years and haven't had any overflowing issue, yet.

Good luck

I know but it does happen to people I saw YouTube videos where the bubbles spew out of the cup and the sides of the skimmer even though the drain line is connected back to the skimmer, that drain is only good for skimmate overflow

I found Naya sos overflow stopper it's like 50$ a sensor you attach on a cup and skimmer body and if the water level rises it stops the skimmer I will buy it
