Aquaph8's 225 Build

Very niiiiice!

Thanks Mike and Terry.

He's nice Brett.. Are they hardier than the Copperband?

The tank is looking great by the way!

Jon, Ive heard they are hardier but I havent got this one to eat much yet so Im not convinced yet. Hopefully he will come around as he settles in. Thanks for the nice comments, your tanks still inspires me every time I see it.

Nice fish!

Thanks man.

You got it bro! and thanks for the compliment! Try some freshwater bloodworms with him.. When I had one....meaning a copperband, he could not resist them. From there he started eating mysis.

btw Brett, your pictures are looking great with the new camera.

I have some black worms coming tomorrow, hopefully that does the trick.

Thank you both (or should I say all 3 or you) for being so kind and for all the participation in this thread, you really make it a lot of fun.

What a beauty! I've also found blackworms to be irresistable to most fish. I've only had a couple that didn't go for it over the years.

Congratsss on getting your dream fish bro....
And it sure is a beauty a dream come true....

Now the hunt for the next dream fish, rrrriiiighhhtttt :D

Eagerly waiting :)

Awesome looking fish man! The tank looks great also:)
I'm working on getting a pair of Copperbanded to eat, so far live blackworms, bloodworms, live brine, frozen brine and mysis have all gotten the taste test with meager results. Stubborn little rascals:(

Thanks Kenny, he starting eating a little mysis yesterday but the black worms aren't a big hit so far. I think he'll eat more and more everyday as he adjusts but only time will tell.

Thanks NOOB. I was told that Im cut off until the first of the year, LOL.

Sweet looking fish Brett. Hope you can get her eating soon...good luck.

Thanks Dan, feeding is going a little better. Hopefully things will continue to progress.

tank looks great Brett.
nice fish ,shes a beut.

how many lbs of rock is in the tank.
do you know your water volume.

vic

Hi Vic, these are guesses cause I dont know for sure. I would say about 200 pounds of rock. I would say the water volume is around 225-250 after you account for rock and sand and add in the sump.

Hey aquainas, How are they as a pair? Chelmons take a lot of patience for sure. They remind me of my kids at dinner time.

Not yet, but that a good idea. I fed with the lights out this morning, wonder if that had to do with the improved feeding response.

I've been feeding my fish about 3 times a day. We had Kevin Kohen of Live Aquaria and he recommended feeding anthias up to 8-10 times a day...that's alot of water changes !

muelleri is eating much better today. Such a relief.
That's great to hear Brett...The pair I have are getting along very well together no aggression at all and they swim together most of the time. I think it's funny I had good luck getting them to pair up which is usually impossible but having such a struggle with feeding them.

You might be on to something here my friend, as I notice that they do more picking around with the lights off. I will try this later today!

Yeah, that's a lot of food. I was feeding the PQs about six times in qt.
My Bartlett's are fat and healthy with 2 feedings per day, however I soak food in AA and vitamins almost every day. Initially when I acquired my anthias I had my eheim setup to feed 4 times a day a mixture of Dainichi and Elos svm2 pellets but noticed Po4 rising so I discontinued that regimen and never had a problem since.

The black worms quickly became a favorite. She still acts really shy but seem to be getting better and better. My goal is to have her eating out of my hand by the time she comes out of QT. Maybe Im crazy though. She is definitely more comfortable under less light. I may throw a screen over the tank and try to acclimate her to the lights.

I use an eheim feeder 3 times a day with 4 different sizes of pellets. This way even if I have to work late or something comes up the fish still get fed.
