Aquapod 24 skimmer?

What do the owners of an Aquapod (or any similar tank) use to skim? I just set up a CPR back pack that I have had laying around, and I am getting micro bubbles out the well you get the picture. I pulled out all of the sponge, ceraminc rings and bio balls in the overflow also. Are Sapphire skimmers any good? Does the Aqua-C nano remora leave any micro bubbles? Thanks in advance.

I had the regular Remora on my 24g 'Pod and loved it. Its now on my 26g bowfront. It put off microbubbles for about 3-4 days, but I think thats to be expected for most skimmers.

I have a sapphire skimmer in my Biocube 29, and it works great! It isn't as picky about water levels as some. After a brief break-in period, micro-bubbles are non-existent!

I used a Coralife super Skimmer "side saddle" on my Aquapod. The Pump is behind the weir where the sponge normally goes and the outlet is right before the weir. Eventually it will go on the sump/refugium I am slowly building for the system. However it works very well and I get a nice brown skim.

I'm selling my Aquapod 24 Sapphire Skimmer.. I want to go open top with a HOB Skimmer so I can do a closed loop.. Ive had it less than 2 months, perfect condition.. PM me if interested..

Pezbean, I will do a little more research on the Sapphires first. I was leaning on a HOB like the Remora. My AP 24 is open top too. I am still trying to decide? Are you going to drill your overflow area (black plastic) where the sponges normally go and install a loc-line with a maxi-jet? I saw that on another thread in this forum. Which model Sapphire do yo have?

I tried the Remora on my Pod and it's way too microbubbly :) I've NEVER been able to stop the Remora from making micro bubbles, and it just completely ruins a display. Some people say the Remora is a bad skimmer - I think the thing works awesome, it's just about keeping the injector clean and pump clean. I put the Remora on my 44 where there is more water to handle the bubbles.

There would probably be a way to put some sort of bubble trap between the spaces in the back, but then you'd have to be pulling it out and cleaning it all of the time. The only way to run a skimmer without bubbles is in a sump. I just elected to do 10% weekly water changes on my pod and everything is going great so far!
