Aquapod and Hydor question

I would like to add the Hydor Flo deflector to the 24G Aquapod i got. I've seen people do it with success.

Dumb question I guess....when the Hydor rotates 360 degrees, wouldnt it splash water up in the air when it faces up? (i replaced the original pump with MJ200)

Yes! At least on mine it did, on the original return.

I have one on my Aquapod 12, and powered thru a Maxi-jet 900 (replaced stock pump). The only issue I had, was the gears gummed up with slime after the first 2 days and quit turning. Took it apart and cleaned it, and it has been qorking like a champ for the last 3 weeks.

I have not had any problem with it shooting water above the water line at the top of its rotation, but you will need to watch the quarter inch or so surge and not have your you water level so high that you overflow.

i've got a hydor on my tank as well, not a stock return but on a powerhead and I love it. Takes the flow rate down a bit but works none-the-less.

I've got a hydor and a MJ900 on my AP24 and splashing has not been a problem for me, even if the water level is low.

How did you mount it? The utlet on my AP24 has a LockLine type connector and not of the adapters fit. Did you cut part of the outlet off?
