Finished the stand today. Next on the agenda is drilling the tank. I am going to have a 10 gallon fuge and a 10 gallon reservoir for auto top off. Should be putting final touches on it this weekend. I will get some pics up soon.
sticky I see you are drilling your own tank? How are you going about this.
Is your hole saw diamond tipped
what speed are you drilling it with
are you useing alot of water as you drill
any Cracks
any help would be helpful as I want to drill my sump for another bulkhead. Thanks Brian
I use a dremel tool. Run it at the highest speed. I used the tool shop brand bits from menards. The hardest part is the first hole..once through that it is usually no problem. What thickness of glass are you going to be drilling? If you want some help I could be persuaded with a frag
I used water in a spray bottle and it usually takes me about 15 minutes to 1/2 hour to drill a hole. I have not broke a tank yet and have drilled ten gallon tanks too. The thinner the tank the harder to drill. Key to it is to be patient and go slow.
I have a diamond tipped hole saw I think it's 2"
and glass is no more than 1/4"
Just have'nt the nerv to go ahead with this as if the glass cracks I'm in deep crap, lol...
Im adding this bulkhead to add a big kickin skimmer and have a external gen x pump ready to go.
heck if it works you can have 2 frags and a beer.
