well this is probably a dumb question but is there anywhere you can get just the tank itself without the hood or the halide's.
and if not does anyone think it would be possible to take a 30g breeder 36 x 18 x 12 and reproduce the way the aquapod is setup in the back with a piece of plastic, or acrylic and have an overflow, and return? i have drawn plans but everything works on paper right. any advice would truly be appreciated. thanks.

LOL.

You probably aren't interested but if you want to buy a brand new aquapod top, let me know. I purchased the aquapod and removed the top.

Building your own back would work. I've done it before to a 15G tank. Just make sure you use alot of silicone. I'd recommend going over it twice. Mine had a small leak and it wasn't worth fixing once water was in there.

thanks alot for the link that might be my cheapest option, but doing one myself seems a little more challenging, and fun. or not fun at all. thanks for the replies though.

just run a peice of acrlic acroos about 4 inches from the back, i did this for a refugium for my 80 really easy to do, and as was said before use lots of silicone. i used .225 acrlic for mine

thanks tim. but what about the overflow, and return. i dont know how many teeth or how big, to cut out but i was thinking about 5 inches long and the teeth being half an inch tall, and using a mj 1200 for return. i also want to put dividers in back for refugium, skimmer, and heater. tell me what you think. thanks alot.

lot of varaibles here as far as you baffles in the back are concerned, protiem skimmer what kind of filtration( i used live rock and a carbon pack for filtration) as far as the overflow i made a circle pattern then cut out 1/4 inch slots using a dremel. 1200 maxi should be fine as long as your gonna run a couple powerheads in that tank. denpding on you wanna keep in there. i'd run 2 seio 620's or maybe 820's if you want a lot of current
