Aquapods.... effective? functional?

Anyone wanna give me some info on how effective aquapods are for reef keeping? im a big fan of eheim filters and was thinking of emptying my filter part and using an eheim. what do you think? thanks!

I only have my AP 24g up and running for 7 wks with 2 eheim filters (1 is a wet/dry and I took out all the pod's filter stuff and pump out) and I would say 90% of the LR and critters I got from tampabaysaltwater are doing well (the mantis from the 2nd shipment got into the tank and coming out more often to smash the rocks). The eheims are very quiet and I can't really hear it except for the wet/dry when water is flowing down you can hear the water. I've about 540gph flow in there I originally thought may be too much for the fish to handle but I think they've gotten used to it now.

The surface skimmer is good as I can see the film on top but it stays there unless you absorp that out. Definately should consider protein skimmer as I see the stuff that is pulling out (the fussion skimmer only pulls out water so get something better). The Coralife 65 is good and will install the remora tomorrow night.

i think the aquapods are pretty nice, but i think i'll wait till the new Oceanic version of the nanocube/aquapod comes out to start a new tank. the pods seem to me to be a little cheaply made from what i have seen of them at the store. (though i really do love the way they look)

aural, i second that as I have a 24g aqua pod. but the only think that seems cheap to me is the 70w hqi, otherwise the tank seems just like a tank.
and as for filtration, I am just putting a aqua C romera skimmer on the back (as per the other thread) and I am picking it up mon.

the aqua pod does seem to be working great as a reef too
