Aquarium design for Wavebox

Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m in the process of designing my new aquarium, which measures 150 x 60 x 60 ( 59 x 23.5 x 23.5). This should make 540 liters or 142 gallons approximately.

I just bought a Wavebox and I installed it for testing purposes in my current aquarium which has exactly the same size as the one Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m planning. My current aquarium has an overflow in one of it corners and when I installed the Wavebox, I noticed that the wave that was produced wasnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t as big as expected. The problem could be the corner overflow and the fact that my water level is only 1 cm from some reinforcements that cross the tank. Because of these reinforcements, I donââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t have a lot of space to install the Wavebox and the water level almost reaches the top of it.

Since I havenââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t started building my other tank, I would like if you could recommend me a couple of things in order to increase the performance of the Wavebox and take full advantage of its capacities. Should the overflow be in the center or in the corner of my tank ? From what I have read, a corner overflow doesnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t allow a wave to rise on the surface of the tank, but the movement in the rest of the tank should be as expected. Is this true ? What could be the advantages of placing the overflow in the center of the tank ?

How much lower should the water level be from the top of the wavebox ? The fact that is almost at the top could inhibit its performance ?

The Wavebox is going to be running together with a TS24. Any other ideas would be more than welcome.

A center overflow definitely gives better performance. The wavebox should stick out of the water about 2cm. I would leave at least 4 cm from top of water to bottom of the bracing.

Sorry Roger I didn't thank you before for the answer......

I'm installing a center overflow in my tank with two 1 1/4" Durso Pipes. Could the wave in the tank impact the performance of the Durso Pipes. What has been the experience of other people ?

In general everyne I know uses Durso pipes and has not had any problems, a centered overflow will function almost as if the wavebox wasn't their since the center would be the fulcrum point of the wave and the water line would be constant.
