Aquarium drain line

My bulkhead on the drain line of my tank is leaking. I am planning on replacing it tomorrow, and I am wanting some ideas on how to redo my drain plumbing. Should I add a valve to the drain line? Should i glue the pvc drain to the bulkhead or not? I woul like to see some pics of your drain going into the sump if possible thanks.

Purchase threaded bulkheads, if possible. Then it's simply a $0.75 pvc adapter for the plumbing. This & the use of a union will allow you to remove the bulkhead without having to cut any glued plumbing.

I tend to lean towards the threaded bulkheads as well although consensus here says a glued unions are better. To me it's too permanent
