Aquariums and Pets in Red Bluff?

So Matt and I had some time to burn so decided to run down to Red Bluff to see what they have in stock.

I haven't been down there in quite awhile, so forgive me if this isn't news, but he has cut the saltwater fish section down to half of what it was, and even that is barely stocked.
And his coral tanks are all but empty. There was one frag of zoas that were not open, and some fish, and star fish in them.
The live rock tanks were empty and replaced with what looked to be fresh water plants.

Was a very :(  trip

Ouch. Sad to hear... Thanks for the update Brian but with the reality of the economy at our consumer level being so glum and the forecast being even gloomier... I see things getting worse before they get better. Now that being said... I hope that I am wrong. :o

Nonetheless, I've read that SW accounts for less than generally 10% of overall pet stores livestock sales and coral/inverts etc less than generally 2-3% overall. (Don't quote me on those numbers but those are the generalities that I recall.) With the overall costs of SW and risk guarantee compared to FW... it's a no brainer when you see traffic and cash flow drastically slow.

Hope you all are doing well  or at least... ok...

Hey Chris!

Yeah, in a general pet shop I can see those numbers being valid.
Which the Red Bluff store pretty much is.

I just think this is going to be a really sad summer for all aquatic stores, and hopefully this winters coral/fish harvest will help the stores recover.
I have already got a glimpse of a couple of new acro colorations I am keeping an eye out for, hopefully there will be some more pretty intense corals showing up.

Ohhh... It is always interesting to see new eye candy including new colorations available. However, I suspect without the same lights, height placement of both lights and coral, and similar flow patterns, those same new and unique colorations might fade. Also, much like China's digitizing the opening ceremony fireworks photos, I wonder how much some of these amazing photos that we see are legitimate? :eek2:

Nonetheless, I hope you can score some of those things and eventually pay it forward type of thing!!! :D :D :D ;)

Don't worry Chris i already have a few things growing out, should be ready to do some serious fragging by the end of this comming winter.
