Aquascape

yeah I'd change it up, I'm not a big fan of arches. Maybe try a two island design with one larger than the other. I usually find a pic of a scape I like and start off trying to copy it, then change the design on the fly.

Funny, I'm just the opposite, I like arches! I would however shift things around a little to make two separate islands, to me at least separate islands makes the overall aquascape more interesting. Also keep the rock at least 3" off the front and sides to make cleaning the glass easier.

What's the width on the tank about 12"? Seems really narrow to me. You might have a tough time if that's the case. A 12" width is one of the worst to aquascape. You can't really work the foreground and background with that width.

I hate arches my self as well

Looks great. I like the idea of separating that last piece on the left and leaving some negative space in between that and the large amount of rock.

Thanks for the opinions! That rock on the far left is pretty big I may have to pull it out and chisel it into a few smaller pieces.

It IS what you are happiest with, but your asking opinions. I like arches, but too many is too many. I go with the 2 island idea. My thought would be to slide archway on left to the left. Move that single rock to the right and stack those straight up for a pillar effect.
Obviously, you don't have to copy mine, I am only posting as example of concept.

Capt. Nemo, really like your scape..best of both worlds. What light and skimmer is that? It looks like Odyssea for both to me. Which light model? And what power heads do you run?

Width is 18 inches

I would try to work the foreground and background a bit more. Maybe make a cove or something. That rock on the right must be pretty big. You could make two islands with a path between them. Something like this (not mine by the way)

Wow! That middle piece is amazing. That might be the best rock I have ever seen.

I am also a fan of arches. I think it adds a lot when fish swim under them. I also like canyons. In my tank I have both, but the canyon is only visible from the side. Stupid 30" wide tank! :)

That's sort of what I was going for in mine. Though the second coming will occur before I can afford that much coral.

Ignore the trachy that looks like it's been run over with a lawn mower.
