aquascapting take 2 with questions!

so now i have 3 out croppings that come out into the tank.
under all 3 are a small network of little caves for smaller fish.
along the whole back wall is huge gaps for the bigger fish.

it has been suggested that i glue the rocks together for stability.
i think thats a good idea.
so 2 questions:

what kind of glue do i use?
and can i use it in the water or do i have to take the rocks out, glue them, then put them back in?

if i ever want to change the rock layout... how do i get the rocks apart?

That looks better, but I still say closer together, like a wall (but with caves)

I like to set mine up in the middle of the tank so there isn't any dead spots as far as flow goes . That way when your lights are on there will be areas lit up on the back of the tank and in the caves as well and you get flow all the way around the tank and in between the rock work as well . Just a thought

I'm not sure what kind of glue to use, but a lot of people have used zip ties to secure rocks together.

Another idea for aquascaping is to create two islands with a valley in the middle. A lot of people find that as their tanks fill in with coral growth, rocks that are higher up in the back end up getting in the way.

Just remember - it's your tank and you should make it look the way you want it.

now I have seen people dill holes in the rock and use plastic rods and epoxy


with my first tank i rearranged the rock for about 4 hours before i like it --- i walled way for a week and than it was perfect

premiumaquatics.com sells something called aquastick.

It's a gray 2 part epoxy that is like clay. You can use this underwater and it hardens underwater. You can get something similar at home depot. Just be sure that it is not metal filled. I believe this may cause problems and leech into the tank.
Anyways, this works great for making rocks more stable and joining them together. A little tug and you will be able to seperate the rocks later.
