Aquatic Critter LED lights

I wanted to start a thread on these to discuss.

Is there a website to find more info on these lights? I think they had a brand name or are these just somethin' that AC only sales. Just wantin' to read a little more about these.

I seen Current USA makes the LED strips. You can get 10000k and Actinic strips. Only 4 LED's on each strip. They can be linked together too. Kind of like the ones AC had. The Current strips are like $75 each from BigAlsOnline.com

I think the ones AC sales has more LED's in the strip though. I'm just not a DIY person so I don't want to try and rig somethin' up myself.

I'm just tryin' to see some options. I'm thinkin' about either gettin' a nanocube tank or maybe get a 15 gal. (24x12x12) and run a couple of the LED strips.

Ecocentrix I think theyw ere. I spoke with the guy for awhile..they were very reasonable too. the smaller ones were 6watts per strip at 8k, the actinic were at 453nm and also 6w per..nice and bright. They are also dimmable, and the friver is 0-10vdc (meaning us reef controller owners can use em for sunrise/sunset with our controllers!).

The large strips were in the hood of the Eco swaure tank AC had set up for display only.

Thanks for clarifying!!! I knew it was something like that..

one thing that bothered me was the combination of lighting would fall very short...8K + the 453 doesn't get us very blue. Now this is jsut scratching teh surface so if someone has more detailed info on their combinaisons pelase do chime in, but I like around 22k on my tank and the combinations they had there weren't close to 20k in color.

Where's James when ya need him huh?? Oh yeah, fighting for our country!

What ever they are their bright as hell and the price Is right, Thought the one AC had were 3W ea correct me If I'm wrong either way I bought one of the all blue for Actinic replacement. Sweet for 99.00 the others were way more.

I seen a post on nanoreef where someone used the 453nm blue stunner and it looked really bright. Too bright for moon lights. But the stunner AC had on display at the swap looked perfect for moon lights. If you looked at the hood, it had 4 panorama modules and a stunner in the center. Anyone know if the stunner was the 453nm blue or maybe it was the 403nm ultraviolet? The 403 doesn't look as bright.

Wondering if maybe I could get away with a 8000k stunner and 453nm blue stunner over a 15 gal. tank, only 12" deep, with only soft corals. They say the last 50,000 hours. If I did my math right, that would mean these lights should last around 11 years if you ran them 12 hours a day. But would the strips last that long?

Steve

The center strip on the tank hood were the 453nm strip. the 403's give a nice suttle glow, but will not be visible with daylights. the rep pionted this out to me.

As much as I'd like to make me a custom hood using these lights. I'll probably just try and find a 24" 2x24 t5ho light. Decided I'm gonna set up a 15 gal. since I picked up a nice black stand and already have a wood canopy that matches.

I have a 24" 2x24 with new T5's (I used it at the swap)..geismann Aquablue+ and AActinic + bulbs. 24" fixture with 18" bulbs...

I also have a 130w 30" Current PC fixture with new bulbs 10K + Actinic with legs..also 30" fixture with 24" bulbs if your interested. Let me know.
