Aquatic Design Habitats

Does anyone have any experience dealing with Aquatic Design Habitats in Arvada? They have been recommended to me to design and build a new tank and stand for me. I am looking to build a new reef setup in the 48x18x30 range.

Any help would be appreciated as well as other recommendations.

Thanks.

I had them build a custom reef tank for me, they did a great job meeting my requests. The tank looks great. Very personable and quality work. The shipping costs can't be beat either! ;)

The crew at ADHI has built numerous aquariums for me and is currently building a 1500g (10x4x5)reef and a 900g (10x3x4)fish only for a new project. Very well built, flexible with designs, and timely. Highly recommended!

I have had mixed experiences with them. They built an excellent stand for a tank I had a while ago, going to great length to match colors and design.

On the other hand, their bid for Bertha was uncompetitive on the acrylicwork, both structurally and price-wise, and they got combative when I asked them to defend their choices of thinner materials. Later I reached out to them again about a stand, and I was unimpressed with how they went about informing me that they didn't want my job.

They are probably the best company in Colorado for this type of work, and the economics are such that it doesn't make sense to shop farther away for smaller tanks. For very large tanks, I believe there are better options.

For large tanks like Bertha, I would think that James at Envisions would make sense as a provider. I have heard nothing but positive praise for his large tank builds.

John at S&S Plastics here in Denver claims to have built hundreds of tanks. After talking to him for a few minutes, I believe him. The shop has been around since the 60's.

I have no experiences with the other providers listed in this thread.

Where is this Arvada store located? Ive lived here most my life and never heard of it but would really like to check with them before I get my new tank.

I am pretty sure they only do acrylic currently. That may change though, hopefully.

I don't know of any good reputable companies in CO that can do glass tanks right now. I think it would be great for ADHI to get into that market.

Am I correct to assume they only do acrylic?

Are there any semi-local companies that do glass?

Theres a glass shop not far from my house here in Arvada/Wheat Ridge that has a very impressive photo collection of tanks and stuff that he's done but he charges like its made from gold:(

Do you have a name for us? It couldn't hurt to get a quote from them...

I was in ADHI the other day checking out the mammoth tanks they are building for Cris. These things have acrylic 2" thick and the seams on it are impeccable, not a single bubble over each 6ft seam. Needless to say I was impressed.

You mean 10ft or 60" seams right??? Otherwise we have a problem :) I don't think we have 6ft dimension in any of them.

We got the stands in today for those tanks through ADHI, they are absolute beasts. They are the best steel stands we all had ever seen.

Yeah I was generalizing the length of the seams. I guess the height was 5 or 6 ft but I didnt have my ruler out. I can't wait to see the coral insert for the fish tank.
