Greg and I had a Talk, looks like all these years have pretty much been a big misunderstanding. Our Issue has been resolved. Just wanted everyone to know.
Thanks Greg,
-Wolfgang

I met greg the other day he was hard to talk to at first but after a while we had quite an in depth conversation and he greatly helped me with my needs. Oh ya and his store is frickin unbelievable when i get some cash together def gonna take another drive out.

that is a good drive Chuggy. I grew up less than a mile from there. Good store, him and Salty are the best. Let me know if you do drive out

All these years have been a misunderstanding? Clearly I'm missing some sort of inside thing here.

I'm guessing that it probably has something to do with Greg lacking social graces. I'm pretty sure at this point that it is unintentional. That's just the way the guy is. His personality isn't really the best fit for someone in the retail business, but he can get away with it because he has an amazing livestock selection. Honestly, that doesn't bug me anymore about going to AT. I even get the sense that he's trying to work on being a bit friendlier.

The only thing that bugs me about that place anymore is the pricing. Does anyone else notice that some of the prices he asks for stuff are really steep? Has anyone browsed through his used goods in the greenhouse? I'd think the only reason why someone would browse through a heap of used junk would be to find a deal. No chance of that happening there. Most of it is only slightly, if at all, cheaper than buying it new. By the way he stocks stuff and gets stuff in bulk, I'm willing to bet that he typically buys stuff when he can get a really good deal on something. My complaint is that he doesn't seem to want to pass on that deal to his customers. His game seems to be to buy stuff as low as possible and sell stuff as high as possible. I understand that it's all business, but people, myself included, want to save money. Consequently, I hardly ever buy any dry goods from AT. The only things I buy there are livestock that I can't find anywhere else.

can we please not have another bashing of Greg and his store on here its getting really old !!!!!!!!!We know who prefers who lets leave it at that PLEASE!!!!!

This has been hashed and rehashed time and time again. My suggestion is that if anyone doesn't like like the way AT does business, you in luck because there are other stores in the area.

Please keep in mind that we get a fair amount of new members that are forwarded to us by AT. Also, FYI, Greg has chosen to support the club at the upcoming Fragswap.

PEOPLE PEOPLE PEOPLE! discuss this stuff over a beer some where and not where every one can read it. this an ancient topic and should not be brought up. ANY store who sponsors and supports this club (C-SEA) should not be bashed on this site. ANY store. if you wish to bash one of them do it over the phone with like thinking people not here. ALL the stores have good points. lets keep those on here. no i dont work for any of them but buy from all i can

Whoa, who's trying to bash here? My comments are a slight, and IMO fair, criticism. Obviously I continue to shop there as they have a lot of redeeming qualities. I just wish there could be better pricing on some stuff. I appreciate that they support the club, but I don't think that is any reason for someone to not voice their opinion about an LFS in a public forum about reef aquaria. That is what this is, after all. Again, it's not like I'm trying to rip them apart. I've read prior comments to that regard, mine are nowhere near as bad. If I made this comment a year ago, people would think that I was going easy on them. Seems that people are singing a different tune nowadays.

Budman, I see your point, yet I've never seen this raised before when people bash other LFS on this forum. People have freely voiced their opinions on LFS in many threads on this forum in the past. I did not realize that it was taboo all of a sudden.

ALLLLLLRighty then! I'm still gonna check it out having never been there! Who knows, I might be the one that Greg? treats like a human being!

Its not taboo all of a sudden. However, I think most would agree that this particular subject has been debated to death.

im just sick of seeing it all the time, thats all
Agreed. It's getting old.

FWIW, I always recommend that people at least make a visit to AT. It is definitely a site to see. I've done that even when I had a not so great first impression of the customer service. I just have a mixed opinion of them. It is a bit of a double standard to be ok with people voicing positive opinions about them and jump on anyone voicing some negative opinions. If we're not to talk bad about any LFS on this forum, then we shouldn't be able to talk good about them either.

Old for you old timers perhaps ;) Plenty of people coming into reading these forums that have never been to AT or perhaps never even heard of them before.

Seriously though, I am slightly familiar with the drama going on here. I'm not trying to open up old wounds. My post was an evolved take on the store from what I felt before. People have bashed AT's customer service in the past, Greg in particular. A lot of it has been unwarranted, some not. I feel the store has definitely taken a great turn since then. But, they're not perfect. If we're to come to an agreement that we don't mention anything negative about them, then fine. I don't have a problem with not mentioning anything bad about them on this site anymore. However, I have the sense that there is a hint of hypocrisy about it all.

I LOVE Aquatic Technology, Salty Critters, Phishy Business, Reef Systems, and all of the other ones I am not taking the time to mention. I will shop at all of those stores, and if they have what I want at a price I am willing to pay I will buy. If something is priced too high I feel lucky to have a few other options (especially in Ohio).
