just wondering if anyone has tried seachem's aquavitro line yet? their new salt called salinaty is due to hit the stores any day now,one bucket makes 220gal. mixed at 1025.
Hmmm...Looks interesting...and expensive. But, I'd be interested to hear other's comments (I'm interested in their product called Balance for pH). Here's a link for everyone:
the person i talked with at seachem said it would not be much more than their reef salt now. each batch is tested and the #'s are on each bucket that you get.anyone know of a lfs carrying their line already
I dont think i would trust it in a reef tank. They test every bucket? I find that hard to believe. and if they do, quality control is never 100% also where do they take their sample from? the top of the bucket, middle, bottom? I always mix my salt when I get it in. Shipping and other movement causes the consistency of the salt to change. heavier particle shift to the bottom lighter ones to the top. So if they do test it at the factory it will probably change top to bottom before you get it home. I would still find myself testing just to be sure, which would defeat the purpose of paying more for it. I also like to mix an entire bag or bucket at once. I dont have enough tanks, tubs, or jugs to hold 220 gallons LOL would be nice tho.
they dont test the buckets they test the batch, and yes i agree with the settling and asked about that.answer- they tested for that to,sending test buckets to select lfs to try their new salt and test the consistency of it as they used it. i was told that the salt mixed up the same from top to bottom.i do not know if i believe that.i switched to 50 gal. bags for that reason.but i may try a bucket just to see
I was curious to see if that “fuel” really works….I use seachems products currently (PH/KH) buffer and I have no complaints. My aquarium doesn’t see to be a big fan of their salt but…anyhu.
