Aqueon pine stand, sumps and skimmers!

So I got the ok to go with a 90 gallon tank and stand. I am looking at the Pine Prefab stands from my LFS. I have questions about the ability of this stand to house a skimmer and still service it. I feel like i may run out of room to be able to remove the skimmer cup, body ect. Also if anyone has this same setup, how wide of a tank could you fit inside the stand for a sump?

I personally think the stands are way overpriced. They will do the job as far as supporting your tank but if I were setting up a 90 I would build my own.

I understand they can be on the higher priced side at times, but that is what I have available to me currently. My question mainly focuses on the ability of the stand to support a sump, skimmer, ect.

I think I remember them. If it has a vertical brace in the middle of the front and two doors you should try to mod before all setup. Add more horizontal brace in front so you can either not run that vertical or have it be removable. That way you can add/remove large sump. If I recall a 40 breeder won't work but a 55 did inside..I may be wrong now though. this was like 8 years ago... Petco/petsmart used to sell them. Any idea about the height inside the stand and whether or not a skimmer with a height of 22 inches will be able to be used?

Funny, I'm a carpenter and I usually can not even buy materials for what petco's pump out these prefab stands for.

OP, I find that usually these stands are on the short side, keep in mind not just skimmer height, but they usually need to be lifted up so pump is at 6-8"
This may limit your options some.
I have seen people raise those stands though if they do not have a bottom, by making a kind of pedestal out of 2x4's laid flat, kind of picture framed.
2- 2x's laid flat will gain an easy 3", sometimes that makes all the difference.

I looked on the mfg website. It has better pic.. you cannot do a 40 breeder or 55 in them...only a 20, 20 long or 29....here is mfg linkhttp://www.aqueonproducts.com/products/classic-pine-stands-canopies.htm.. the stand had no bottom on the inside. they are 30" tall.

I only know about these because I worked at petsmart then Petco like 9 years ago..I used to sell them. Same size sump tank limits on ones posted by other member. But once sump is in you will never get back out.. the panel's were cammed in. These used to have a floor on them and we're a little shorter at 29". They will crumble eventually if not careful near display tank corners if you don't clean drip/spills (made from press board)
