hey guys... my new 180g set up is up and running with the proflex sump model 4. My skimmer is Bubble Magus CS-220 which recommends 9.5" to 11" of water depth but the max height of the sump is 14" which means I only have 3" to spare in case of power outtage. I did a power outtage test and the water from the tank fills up extra 5" of the sump which is roughly about 10 gallons of water. I want to have my skimmer sitting in at least 10" of water, what can I do to prevent my sump from overflow and flooding my living room in case of a power outtage? Thanks!!

Got a pic of the return(s) in the display? You want to do something so that the siphion breaks sooner when the power goes out.

If you have locline on the return(s) try arranging it so that the nozzle(s) are as close to the surface as possible without creating a whirlpool or sucking bubbles.

get a new sump.

or, What I did was move the adjustable wall to between the second and third compartments after cutting small tabs off the lip on the wall. The height of the wall is about 9" which is perfect for my ATB skimmer. This leaves the entire third compartment at a rather low level to fill in case of a power outage. Ideally, I'd put another wall between the 1 and 2 compartments to prevent the water from falling and making noise but with the filter socks in place, it hasn't been a problem.
