Aqueon the headache begins ....

I was having trouble getting my new Aqueon 120 level. The top black rim of the aquarium is unlevel on the right side. I was puzzled wondering what could be the issue. Seems when they installed it they didn't press down hard enough or what ever the issue may have been. To top it off the front peice of glass sticks out to the right a bit on the bottom when it meets the side panel. I measured the water levels from front to back on the side and they were the same. I measured the brace and discovered it was unlevel. Should I take the tank down? I just don't want this exploding up here on the third floor. Thanks for your help in advance btw I contacted Aqueon

The top frame being 1/16" of a inch off is not going to matter. The bottom of the tank needs to rest fully flat on the stand and the stand needs to be level.

It's hard to tell what is front and sides from your pics but as long as the panel edge that has the silicon on it is not sticking out past the panel it's butted up to it will be just fine.

Thanks for the reply but the front panel is protruding past the side panel. Although the silicone side is still buttered to the side panel. This pic is take. From the right side panel and to the left is the side of the front panel

It's fine don't worry about it. The full panel edge is siliconed to the front panel. The front panel could be sticking out a 1" and it won't change anything strength wise.

Its fine..
That will not effect its strength one single bit..Full contact is still there 100%..

Thanks for all the replies this has been haunting me all day then I did the worst searched. YouTube for exploding aquariums [emoji33]

Anyway Ya I found out the brace was installed from back to front off by 1/8th. I hope it's more aesthetics. I am just worried because it's in a condo on the third floor. Also I found a clam shell chip although it's not deep

If you are that concerned and purchased new, attempt to get a replacement.

As others have said, other than cosmetics, it's safe.

Only thing I would not be happy with is the clam shell chip because buying any glass tank especially new the glass should be chip free. Everything else is normanl and a none issue. These are mass produced tanks and not as much care is taken on fit and finish. Every tank I have owned has been All Glass Aquarium or Aqueon and I have never had an issue with any of them.

I agree, but the tank looks used and why you where you not this picky before the purchase? The biggest question is why you said "Aqueon" like its their fault you got a used tank. If you wanted something perfect you should of went to a better company. Aqueon makes great cheap tanks that hold up, but they are not Planet Aquarium or some other top brand. If you are still worried water test it in a safe place.

None of those problems seem bad, I wouldn't like the chip myself though. But since it is new, just use the warranty and get a new one. Probably should inspect it better before filling it next time too. Live and learn.
