I forgot to rinse a 40lb bag of aragonite substrate before putting it in my new tank and the water turned a chalky color. This is in a 55g drilled tank. Should I replace all the water or will this dissipate over the course of a few days?

Is this a new take without livestock? It will go away with pump and skimmer running but may take a few days....You may want to do a few large water changes if you want to speed up the process.

I dont think theres a need to replace all the water. it will dissipate but once it settles you'll be left with a very thin layer of aragonite powder on top of your substrate. If you have a skimmer, some of it'll be pulled out.

everything cleared up within a day. I've since made the transfer of my LR, a few shrooms, and some snails/ crabs.

congratz. I'd recommend throwing in a filter sponge/activated carbon for a few days as well to grab anymore junk flying around =)

Just finished putting the header in for our upcoming in wall tank, hopefully we will be able to share pictures in a couple of weeks .
