Sorry for the newbie question - I keep hearing about ARC (I'm presuming a store), but i can't find it with google. I'm heading to Rochester this week and was hoping to see the ReefShoppe and ARC, presuming there is such a thing as ARC! anyone have a website?

thanks!

ARC is A Reef Creation in Cheektowaga/Buffalo.

In Rochester the main stores are:
The Reef Shoppe
Marine Oasis
Caribbean Forest
ABC Pets in Fairport

my picks for Rochester for genuinely good stuff, and honest, trustworthy owners and staff would be the ones Mel suggested. Was just at CF, MO and ABC this week and made some excellent purchases. Enjoy your visit here!

Oh god here we go again...

Mel, Kat if you are coming all the way out to A Reef Creation and Saltwater Paradise you might as well check out The Fish Place on Robinson Rd in North Tonawanda. Their saltwater section is decent and their freshwater stuff is amazing(If you dabble in that realm)

Also if you get out towards Buffalo way, a stop in Lockport at Pets Plus is a must as well. http://petsplusbuffalo.com/ A 'general' pet store they have everything from birds to reptiles to a pretty large selection of fresh and salt water stuff. Cool place IMO, had some funky stuff last time I was there when I bought a tortoise and a frag of a crazy purple montipora.

is that the one with the Fish Fry Sign? lmao. i would go just to get a pic of that sign for myself!!!

I know what sign you are talking about but I have no clue where the store is, I think its just one of those signs you find on a site like failblog or something similar. I don't think its a Buffalo area store though...

MG -really? that's one i wouldn't have thought of...looks like we are going to need a plan of attack for our roadtrip to Buffalo. Gonna need some recovery time between this weekend and the next trip, however, i'm thinking...lol.

oh good...i was hoping that really wasn't an upstate thing...we all get a bad enough rap as it is....hahahhaha.
