Arduino project

I have seen those ted5000 units. Power consumption would be a cool metric to add into the mix.

There are a lot of people wanting automated systems. That's fine but for me I just want the history, real time data and notifications. I enjoy the doing. I think the electric usage is a great idea and here is why. If I have a history of the normal draw of the system throughout a day I should be able to determine an impending failure or required maintenance needs to be done.

Take a look at openreefs.com. Open source controller... You buy the board and optional probe connectors you want, then program to your hearts content to send data to your server at regular intervals.

Little late and need to get to bed, but if this is a copy and paste layout it could save some time while meeting requirements. No need to reinvent the wheel if what you want is already there are tested.

I use a lot of monitoring as I run a whole home solar system for power and love it. Being able to connect with my phone and look at historical data is great for forecasting and trouble shooting problems. If you are interested you can see a live monitor of my home solar system at www.joshuablaylock.com, my personal site. Could inspire some ideas ;)

Arduino for hardware interaction, Raspberry Pi for external communication and decision making. You gents are over complicating things :)

I am testing my pi now. Have digital temp probe and 8 port relay for outlets. Just got done wiring and testing a float switch for ato. All with just the pins on the pi. uploadfromtaptalk1398820495905.jpg

Make a YouTube video or a set of instructions. I would like to build one of these if I get a chance after finals
