Are Blue Chromis the same as Blue Damsels

Hello all,
This is a simple question and I'm looking for a schooling fish with strong color. I have found the Blue Chromis but it looks like a Blue Damsel. I know Damsels are aggressive bullies.

Is it the same fish?

Thanks,

If you're one of the 'lucky' ones...the chromis may survive and 'school'... unfortunately in many cases, the school of chromis will kill each other, till there is only 1 left.

Common names can be misused...normally a blue damsel is different from a blue chromis (which IMO, does not have a strong color)

I got seven green chromis which school together since day one, not one dead, three months since that, I think the key was getting them really young (3/4").

agree with Albano..one day there will only be 1..had 10 in my 250...just about 1 year ago...down to 1....

I guess I been the lucky one, bought 7 in total and over the period of last three years I only lost one. I recently sold them to a fellow reefer who still manage to keep them alive but as said above they do tend to attack each other and kill.

Hmm, I never saw this fish in schools in the wild. It was a common sight down in the Florida Keys. Always as a single fish..
I'd say its not very probable, but I could be wrong..
