Are bubbles from algea harmful to fish and coral?

My young tank is now covered with green algea and the sand bed is covered with brown cyano. Today, there are a lot of bubbles floating to the top. Is that gas harmful?

i agree with mondo. It's either accumulated/trapped air bubbles, or bubbles of pure oxygen given off as the algae photosynthesizes. The gas is harmless but the algae may end up being a problem. I'd run some GFO

Bubbles are just oxygen and won't hurt anything. The algae on the other hand is releasing DOC compounds that promote heterotrophic bacteria, some of which are pathogenic to corals. Do consistant water changes and manually remove the algae. If using GFO don't let phosphates drop too low (average on reefs is .13 mg/l) unless supplementing with lots of food. (Fish wastes provide essential organic and inorganic nitrogen and phosphate and feed the corals.)

My Amonia, nitrite and PO are zero. Nitrate was 40ppm. I just did a second 20% wc. I'll check nitrate level again in a couple of hours.
