Are Claims hard to find now?

I starting to notice not many LFS are carrying claims as they did in the past years.. is it me or did something happen? I always saw a claim in peoples tank as well in past 10yrs but now it looks like 1 out of 20 would have one...I always had at least one in my tanks and even had a large one grow from 5" TO 18" but few years ago I lost my 18' CLAIM to a power outage so I am on the hunt for one now, so does anyone have a website that sells them at a average price and I want one over 3" at least... went to a few LFS this weekend and I have no luck finding one... anything 3" or smaller never do good in my tank....thanks

Wild caught ones are much harder to find now since there are many sources for captive bred ones... also I believe you meant CLAMS not claims? Check LiveAquaria, they have them over 3” from time to time that aren’t CB but you will easily spend $350+ for one

No shortages in Canada or at least yet. I have noticed a decrease in size but not all the time.
I have 9" squamy, ($100) a 5" crocea, ($60) and I just added a 3" Dersa ($70)

So it depends on location, the short and price seems to be a US thing.

Jarrett there are a few at Aquarium Care Center . John Stevenson is the owner , mention Anemones By Greg recommended you. They have a few nice squamosa clams in stock . There shipping prices are reasonable. Hope this helps .

I was just talking to a guy yesterday who goes to the wholesalers about clams. He says you can't find any at the wholesalers right now and if they do have some they don't look that healthy. I also said he thinks they will start showing up again around April. Not sure why he said April but that's what he said.

ACC does have nice clams. I was in the shop this weekend picking out a CUC.

Most I see these days are Aqua Cultured.....

I have 2 in my current tank. Clams always add the final touch to a tank IMO

I just bought a nice little maxima at Petco. I bought a derasa there last May, about three inches long. I didn't know they grew that fast - I didn't know ANYTHING grew that fast. It's about 11 inches long, 8 months after I got him. I hope he doesn't continue to triple in size every 9 months.
Petco in my area has had 6 or 7 clams over the past few months. I believe they have all been ORA, but I could be wrong. Petco gets a lot of ORA stuff in.
