Are Crocea clams seasonal?

I notice in the DD section it is always dominated by crocea clams around the summer months and then none are ever to be found there a good portion of the year. this trend has been for at least the past few years. Is this coincidence or pretty much how it goes? Can I expect the same thing this year now that its approaching that time?

stanlalee,

Thank you for your patience while we checked into your inquiry. According to our Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life Facility, Crocea Clams are normally available on a year-round basis. CITES permit regulations dictate harvesting and quantities for these, which affects overall availability. We anticipate CITES to issue additional permits in the near future so that these clams can be acquired again. If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to let us know.
