Are Gen1 Radions still viable?

I am setting up a 180 and have 2 gen1 radions from before my hiatus from reefing. My plan was to buy an additional gen 3 pro and upgrade the older lights. It seems that that is no longer possible at least in the short term. Now I'm wondering if I can buy another gen1 and get by until I figure out what I want to do. I guess my question is are the gen1 lights still viable? WIll they work with reeflink or the WXM module. Have people had long term success with them?

While the upgrades aren't available right now, they are suppose to be when EcoTech receives the parts.
You can still keep your plans.

They have only been out of stock for a month. I dont think its that big of a worry.

Yes, it has happened before. It's a very popular upgrade.
In another thread Alex from EcoTech said they are just waiting for parts to get in.
I know other people are waiting too.
