My lfs has a 2.5" Multicolor angelfish that i would like to buy. are they known to be reef safe? does anybody have any experiences with them?

thanks

No, they are typically considered one of the more "risky" angels in a reef.

As with any angelfish, it depends on the personality of the individual fish - generalizations are essentially useless.

All of the pygmy angels are risky of nipping at coral, clams or inverts. It mayn't happen today or tomorrow but it may happen some where down the line. You need to make the decide of having one and not having certain types of corals.

I have a couple in one of my tanks, SPS and SPS , no problems, from time to time I see them nipping, but itäs once in a while and not a problem.
Use at your own risk.;)
