So i've had my clowns for over 4 years and they have paired for the last 3 years. Theyve never laid eggs though. The male has always cleaned off spost and i've seen them flutter with each other but nothing ever happened. Over the past 3-4 weeks they seem to be more intense with each other and one specific spot where they sleep at night. 2 weeks ago I noticed a small tube like thing coming down from the mid section of the female but never found any eggs. Well, yesterday I was watching them and they were taking turns up against the back wall of my tank (covered in coraline) Where the male would rub his lower side on the wall and then the female will come and do the same, they were taking turns, they were not bothered by me looking at them but they were however bothered when I would pull out my phone to record them so I couldnt get a video of them. The female once again had that small tube like thing sticking down from under her, I was looking at the male and he also had something sticking out from under him. I left my house for the day and havnt seen the tank since, so im not sure if they did or did not lay the eggs.
Im wondering if they are in deed preparing to lay eggs?
Ive seen them behave this way before but not as determined (if that makes any sense). Any help will be appreciated.
