Hi, a beginner to the hobby, and i just purchased my first test kits. Here are my parameters:

PH : 8.1 - 8.2
Ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 25 mg/l (Or more, but less than 50)
Nitrite: 0
KH : 8.6 (might be slighlty higer, but is less than 8.9)
Alkalinity: 3.08
Phospate: 3 or more

Anything i need to change, or any other test kits i should buy etc? Any help advice is welcomed :)

I have just tested phosphate again and it seems it is between 1 and 3ppm . I have done the KH/Alkalinity test twice and it is indeed an accurate reflection of my results.

PH : 8.1 - 8.2
Ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 25 mg/l (Or more, but less than 50)
Nitrite: 0
KH : 8.6 dKH (might be slighlty higer, but is less than 8.9)
Alkalinity: 3.08 meq/L
Phospate: 1-3ppm or more

Any idea on how i can lower phosphates? Water change i guess... any products i can add to the water?

Maybe try some rowaphos?
Are you sure phosphates are that high?

You'll need to test your calcium eventually, and magnesium.

Yep they definitely are high, this can be confirmed by the fact that there seems to be absoultely no algae in my tank either. A friend had given me some medication to get rid of parasites which were harming my fish.. and he did say that it will get rid of all my algae (I had loads of algae before).

I guess i will do a small water change and test phosphate levels again after that.
